  There are many nice things about this church and the people there. My family and I have attended this church for a while and we were very saddened to hear the pastor speak out in such a divisive way against gay individuals. Declaring in his sermon this past weekend that God's design for marriage is between 1 man and 1 woman and equating anything else to Sin is alienating this group. Social change is happening, gay marriage is legal, we must find a place in our hearts to work through this and embrace this group. Verses from the bible are used to support this stance, but yet they do not focus on other verses. Proverbs 23:2 "and put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony." In the New Testament, Ephesians 6:5 says "Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ." How can the church or we as Christians focus in on verses that promote an isolating position of being gay as "living in sin" but yet not preach from the pulpit about other controversial verses (and there are many more) in the bible? The Christian church of the past preached in support of slavery, which thankfully we as a society could no longer tolerate! It is time to stand up for our gay brothers and sisters. To clarify, I am not gay, but my heart broke for these people this past weekend when I heard the pastor of this church single them out and reference their sexuality as sinful. Yes, he said they are welcome at the church, but that is not enough. The church would not conduct a gay marriage and believes it to be sinful and that is not the right approach. Proverbs 10:12 says "Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins." The bible also says "So in Christ..you are all children of God...There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you ARE ALL ONE in Christ.. Galatians 3:26-29. It saddens me to say, that my family will not be attending this church again unless their stance changes on loving and accepting all of God's children, including gay individuals.

  Love to say I love my church Shoreline its such an amazing place to grow . It provides so many ministries to be a part of and involved in God has also branched out shoreline in Spanish which is great and the most I personally love is that their 11:30 service in their main sanctuary has a def interpreter - reaching out to the def community is a blessing seeing how every nationality of color, the hard of hearing ,the def ,the Spanish , worship to our God as one Body .It gets me all stirred up inside and motivates me to seek him more and be used for God anywhere he wants me to be. Thank you shoreline for welcoming my family . Blessings
